Biography
My artistic vision comes from the wish to close the distance between art and product design: to build works that are complete on an aesthetic level and usable at the same time.
I work by adding and subtracting matter. Metal, plaster and fabric record every step, and light is the element that makes that process visible.
I was born and raised in Castellammare del Golfo, in the province of Trapani. My interest in design was sparked at art school and shaped what followed: from there came the decision to enrol on the product design course at IED in Turin.
After my studies I looked for work in art and design studios, first in Madrid and then in Eindhoven, where I live and work. Moving between different contexts gradually shifted the centre of my research from the object to the figure.
